ASJ is the Artistic Director of her own theatre ensemble Action To The Word, for whom she created the award-winning all-male adaptation of A Clockwork Orange (Soho Theatre/The Park Theatre/New World Stages Broadway/International Tour), Dracula (Arts Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Latitude Festival/National Theatre Riverside), The Lost Boy (Pleasance), Romeo & Juliet (Abbeyfest/CPT/Stockwell Playhouse), Titus Andronicus (The Space/Edinburgh Festival), The Merchant of Venice (CPT), Busstopkisser (Theatre Royal York/Company of Angels) and her own award-winning musical Constance & Sinestra and The Cabinet of Screams (New Wimbledon Theatre/Edinburgh Festival).
ASJ trained at Chiltern Stage School before studying English and Drama at Cambridge University. ASJ is a Freelance Theatre Director, Writer and Composer-Musician working passionately across musical and classical Theatre. Other credits as Director include; Gobsmacked! She is extremely passionate about Shakespeare and created her own Shakespeare festival in collaboration with Catford Broadway Theatre ‘Catford-Upon-Avon’ and enjoys her working relationships with The Globe Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
