ASJ is the Artistic Director of her own theatre ensemble Action To The Word, for whom she created the award-winning all-male adaptation of A Clockwork Orange (Soho Theatre/The Park Theatre/New World Stages Broadway/International Tour), Dracula (Arts Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Latitude Festival/National Theatre Riverside), The Lost Boy (Pleasance), Romeo & Juliet (Abbeyfest/CPT/Stockwell Playhouse), Titus Andronicus (The Space/Edinburgh Festival), The Merchant of Venice (CPT), Busstopkisser (Theatre Royal York/Company of Angels) and her own award-winning musical Constance & Sinestra and The Cabinet of Screams (New Wimbledon Theatre/Edinburgh Festival).

ASJ trained at Chiltern Stage School before studying English and Drama at Cambridge University. ASJ is a Freelance Theatre Director, Writer and Composer-Musician working passionately across musical and classical Theatre. Other credits as Director include; Gobsmacked! (Kennedy Centre/Southbank Centre/International Tour), A Generous Lover (International Tour), Vampi (Spiegel Tent), Rhythm of Silence (Charlton Festival/Latitude Festival/Bath Theatre Royal), I’ll Kill For You (Etcetera Theatre), The Oresteia (CPT/St Martins-In-The-Field), Women Beware Women (LIPA/CPT), Cloud 9 Birmingham Crescent), Rent (Birmingham Hippodrome), All Day Permanent Red (Pegasus Theatre Oxford/Royal Court), The Priory (Birmingham Crescent), Pains of Youth (Master Shipbuilder’s Theatre), City of Angels (Stratford Circus), Man 1 – Bank 0 (International Tour), Spring Awakening (Stratford Circus), Bat Boy! (RCS), Street Scene (RCS Athenaeum), Legally Blonde (Assembly Rooms Edinburgh), The Importance of Being Earnest (Colour House Theatre) and Sweeney Todd (RCS Athenaeum). She is extremely passionate about Shakespeare and created her own Shakespeare festival in collaboration with Catford Broadway Theatre ‘Catford-Upon-Avon’ and enjoys her working relationships with The Globe Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Credits as an Associate Director: Bend It Like Beckham (West End), Stepping Out (Bath Theatre Royal/UK Tour), Peter Grimes (Also Movement Director/Grange Opera), Oliver! (Grange Opera), Hope (Royal Court) and La Perichole (Garsington Opera). As Assistant Director: The Wizard of Oz (London Palladium), Romeo & Juliet (The Northern Broadsides) and Peter Pan (The Kings Head Assistant Director Training Scheme). She is represented by Simon Blakey of The Agency.
